Lenovo Yoga 910 2-in-1 Review #LenovoIN. The Lenovo Yoga 910 2-in-1 PC is a new product  in the laptop – tablet hybrid category, where Lenovo is leading and pushing boundaries with each new release.  Reviewing this product couldn’t have come at a better time as I am hot off of a visit to CES2017 in Las Vegas, where I was fortunate to see the best for 2017 tablets and laptops alike (and the advancements in each are incredible).  My standards are now raised on the tech side, yet I still come from the perspective of the everyday person (mom, blogger, chef, person on the go, movie buff, gamer, music fan and so-forth!!).  All that said, the Lenovo Yoga 910 has been one of my favorite tech products I’ve ever reviewed, please read on to see why. Disclosure:  Lenovo sent me the Yoga 910 2-in-1 PC to review, as part of the Lenovo INsiders program and did not provide additional compensation. All opinions, expressions and pictures are my own  (that of Posh Journal’s).

Lenovo Yoga 910 Overview

Lenovo didn’t cut any corners with the Yoga 910, which I quickly realized after unwrapping it and holding it in my hand.  It is light and thin, yet extremely sturdy.  I have held and unfortunately owned hybrids that seem to simply try to check both boxes for marketing purposes, but really function 90% as either a tablet or a laptop, but not both.  Lenovo is in a powerful and unique position to draw on the same technology from their ThinkPad laptops such as the technology behind their keyboards and hardware, and bring it together with the features like the award winning hinge designs and  best in-class touchscreens that have helped their Yoga line of tablets do so well.  It’s a true Lenovo Yoga 910 product that could be used at the office and at home.

Yoga 910 Watchband Hinge

Some might not think that a hinge is the first thing to cover, eve in a 2-in-1 product.  Once you see and play with the watchband hinge of the 910 you’ll see however why it makes such a difference.  The craftsmanship on the hinge is beautiful, with a classic design drawn from a watchband yet elevated to look very futuristic.  It’s not just for looks though, the sturdiness of the hinge holds the screen tightly in-place at whatever angle you choose (it’s a 360 degree hinge).  I’ve used my Lenovo Yoga 910 2-in-1  at my desk, in the kitchen, on the couch, on different tables and nightstands for movie watching and more, each at a different angle without having to prop it up or worry about it collapsing.

I like the sexy look of the watchband hinge as it’s one of those eye-catching features that will get people asking about your product.  The first few times I saw a Tesla drive by I kind of stopped in my tracks and took a closer look…. I noticed when I took out my Yoga 910 at coffee shops it has that same appeal.  It’s fun to be the owner instead of the one gawking this time around, and the watchband hinge is definitely a big contributor on that front.

Lenovo Yoga 910 Screen

The crisp resolution and definition of the 4K high-definition made movie watching very fun on this.  I was able to stream Netflix in Ultra HD on the Yoga 910 which will definitely amplify my already dangerous addiction to binge-watching my favorite shows.  Everyone has their own opinion on screen size but I personally think the 13.9 inch is a sweet-spot size, keeping it great for movies, games and the accompanying keyboard at a large enough size, yet small enough to be truly portable without feeling like you’re “lugging” something around, especially with its ultra-thin and light dimensions (.56” (14.3 mm) and 3.04 lbs (1.38 kg) respectively).

Lenovo Yoga 910 Touchscreen

One of my favorite things at CES 2017 was watching artists work on Lenovo’s touchscreens.  They appeal to the artist community that need that level of sensitivity and refinement in a touchscreen, yet appeal to “everyone else”, too.  My husband works for a large billion-dollar medical company and said he’s seen some Yoga 910s at work, especially in the marketing department where mindmapping and digital diagrams need to be constantly captured and shared via touchscreen technology.

Lenovo Yoga 910 Hardware and Battery

My multimedia software platforms can be quite draining on any pc and especially on a laptop.   With Up to 16 GB DDR4 2133 MHz and Up to 1 TB PCIe SSD for storage the Yoga 910 has the power under the hood for me and my gamer husband.  The battery life is something that Lenovo has really addressed this past year, listening to its own customers and the sentiment of the general public who don’t want to be tied down in any way.  With a 78Wh nine hour battery I was quite pleased with the 910, allowing me to focus on my work and not waiting to race for that one table in the room close to the outlet.

The Yoga 910 also boasts an “always-on” charging port USB.  I used it as a powerbank to charge up my phone while it was in my backpack, pretty cool.

Lenovo Yoga 910 Audio

Lenovo is sticking with their JBL stereo speaker technology, and the Yoga910 has Dolby® Audio Premium™ sound.  When I was looking for my first tablet and 2-in-1 I wasn’t really considering the audio, but after hearing the difference from JBL speakers it’s something that will weigh in on similar future purchases.  I suggest doing a side-by-side test for yourself between the Yoga 910 and any competitor brand, both from one foot away and five to ten feet away.  At both ranges the banging sound output yet clarity of the Yoga is tough to beat.

Lenovo Yoga 910 Summary

Beyond all of the specs listed above, I enjoy how the Lenovo Yoga 910 2 in 1  lets me morph all of the different areas of my life without skipping a beat.  I can move from serious business-mode of typing up a doc or excel file in Windows 10 to using the 360 hinge to watch a tutorial video, to then pack up and go across town and switch to touchscreen mode without having to worry about battery life.  We as consumers and as people are truly integrating the crossover lifestyle of business and pleasure, video and documents, typing and touch, consuming and creating.  Lenovo as a whole is better than any other brand on the market in that respect.  The Yoga 910 2-in-1 has all of the aforementioned specs that will keep tech enthusiasts happy.  Equally if not more importantly it enables the common person like me to seamlessly transition throughout my day, and moreover inspire me to blend them in new ways.

I really like that it’s light and sturdy and has watchband type hinges. The always on charging port is a big plus. Looks like an all-around winner.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Lenovo laptops. Haven’t yet about the tablet, so this is a great source of information. I love the hinges. Those are usually one of the first things to go on any of my devices.

The Mister and I were wondering if this Lenovo Yoga was any good. We are familiar with the Lenovo brand but not this particular item. He is in the market for a new tablet/laptop and is considering this one.

I love that you can position it in many different ways and it is thin. If I have to buy a laptop, I would consider this.

I just bought a computer similar to this. It has a lot of the same capabilities. I didn’t see Lenovo at the store I was at but if this is anything like the one I have, it’s awesome!

This looks like a nice laptop. I really love the thin design. It seems to have everything that a blogger needs to get the job done. That’s what I need.
