Add rice to a fine-meshed strainer. Run cold water over the rice, gently rub the rice with your fingertips in a circular motion, and shaking the strainer multiple times back and forth until the water runs clear. Let the rice sit in the strainer for a few minutes to drain the excess water.
Add water, rice and the optional salt into the pot. Cook on manual for 4 minutes. When the timer is off, allow the cooker to cool down naturally for about 5 minutes then do quick release.
Fluff the rice with fork or a rice paddle. Serve and enjoy.
