Instant Pot Brown Rice
Learn how to cook brown rice in an Instant Pot. This Instant Pot Brown Rice is the easiest and quickest way to cook rice if you don't have a rice cooker. The rice is cooked to perfection, so fluffy and tender with just a little crunch to it, and not at all mushy.
Add rice to a fine-meshed strainer. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
Add brown rice and water into the pot. Stir to combine. Secure the lid. Cook on Manual at High Pressure for 15 minutes, and natural release for 10 minutes.
Open the lid. Make sure that the Instant Pot is completely off. Letting your IP in a "Warm" mode will cause the rice to turn hard. Fluff the rice using a fork and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes to reduce the wetness of the rice.
How to store the leftover rice: First, let the rice cool down at room temperature but no longer than 2 hours. Transfer the leftover to an airtight container. Properly stored, it lasts about 5-7 days in the fridge or up to a month in the freezer.
