Learn how to make spiced nuts in a slow cooker. This spiced nuts recipe is so simple and so much easier than the stovetop or oven method. You just need to dump all ingredients in a mixing bowl or in a slow cooker, mix, and slow cook!
4cupsmixed nuts (such as cashew, pecan), (roasted, unsweetened, unsalted)
1¼tspcayenne pepper, (add more according to your liking)
¼cuppure maple syrup, (add more according to your liking)
3tbspbutter, (unsalted, melted)
In a mixing bowl, whisk together all the ingredients above.
Spray the bottom of the crock-pot with cooking spray. Spread the mixed nuts evenly on the bottom of the crock-pot. Cook on high heat for about 1 hour. Turn the heat to low, keep stirring every 20 minutes, until the nuts are glazed for about 1 hour.
Turn the heat off, uncovered, and let the nuts harden. Serve immediately or store in an airtight jar for up to 5 days
Slow cookers are not all made the same, If you are afraid the nuts will get burnt, you can stir every 20-30 minutes within the first hour and add about 2 tablespoons of water each time if necessary.
