  • 1 pound fresh green beans (trimmed)
  • tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or more to taste)

Method

  1. Heat a large pan on medium heat. Add olive oil. Add green beans and stir to coat with oil. Stir every 10-15 seconds for 5 minutes. Beans should be slightly charred but tender.
  2. Add salt and garlic, cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Turn off the heat and serve.

Notes

Variations and Substitutions. For a low-sodium version, reduce the salt and add lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon. To give it a Chinese-style flavor, you can add a splash of soy sauce or a little bouillon.
Storage. Let the green beans cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
