As much as I try not to get too caught up in the stresses of the week, I seem to get sucked back in, every day. From work to kids to appointments... even the silly things I worry about that I shouldn’t, it can all be too much to shoulder. It’s important to have some time to focus on myself and just step away from it all.
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you that one way I get to indulge and relax is through eating and drinking. Chai is one of those things that relaxes me even before having a taste; the smell itself is just calming. Whether by itself or used in recipes like the ones below, chai can be a great way to make yourself happy and at peace, even on a busy day. The dessert recipe consists of a Chai Spiced Granola and a Chai Spiced Yogurt. The two can be eaten separately, but are even better when combined. My kids actually like the taste of chai, but I usually have myself or my high-strung husband in-mind when whipping up a batch of this dessert.
When selecting a chai product, I’d say to always go with one that is both organic and non-GMO Project Verified. That way you can feel good from your chai and also feel good about the chai you are drinking. One brand that has been very good to the greater community and also has a great taste is Oregon Chai®.
I like their story, a taste that originated in the Himalayas and was brought back to Oregon. You can find recipe inspiration and more on their story at their website here.
You can pick up the Oregon Chai Tea Latte Concentrate and the Oregon Chai Tea Latte Powdered Mix that I used in the below recipes from Target and you can even save on Oregon Chai with Cartwheel in the Target app, now through 11/10/18!
On a final note of relieving stress, there are of course big things that I can do, like take a day to get out into nature for a camping trip or even a hiking day-trip. I wish I did more of these! Another thing that I do to get away from the chaos is to run a bath with my tunes, bath salts, bubbles, hot water and most importantly, a locked door! Yoga is another therapeutic thing that I do, but even finding 45 minutes to do that can be a challenge.
This is an easy dessert recipe that can be prepared within 30 minutes. The Chai Spiced Granola can be made in a big batch, for multiple uses.
