    Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs are an inexpensive protein choice. They are healthy, versatile and can be used in many recipes, especially for a last-minute lunch or dinner.

I frequently make hard-boiled eggs and have a couple of tips:

    • When properly stored, hard-boiled eggs will stay fresh for up to a week in a fridge.
    • It can be much easier to peel hard-boiled eggs when they are cold.

    How Long to Boil Eggs

It takes about 7 minutes for the water to reach a full rolling boil, then another 8 minutes of cooking time for hard-boiled eggs.

Step 1. In a saucepan, cover the eggs with an inch of cold water. Season the water with ½ teaspoon of salt.

Step 2. Bring the water to a full rolling boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-high.

Step 3. Cover the pan and continue cooking for 8 minutes.

Step 4. Remove the eggs from the heat and transfer them to a large bowl with ice-cold water. Let the eggs cool down for at least 5 minutes, then peel or keep them in the fridge for later use.

How to Easily Peel Boiled Eggs

Peeling eggs can be challenging and annoying if it's not done right. Here are some useful steps to follow to make it easier to peel boiled eggs.

    1. Add salt or vinegar. You can add vinegar or salt into the water to prevent cracking and to make it easier to peel.

    2. Use an ice bath. Cool the eggs down in an ice bath for at least 5 minutes before peeling.

    3. Another option is to peel the eggs under a bit of running cold water.

How to Cook Hard-Boiled Eggs in an Air Fryer

    • Preheat the air fryer to 265°F.
    • Put the eggs in air fryer basket, in a single layer then cook for 15 minutes.

How Long Hard-Boiled Eggs Will Last in the Fridge

It's a good idea to keep the hard-boiled egg unpeeled to protect them from bacteria and to keep them fresh.

You can store the hard-boiled eggs in the fridge for up to 7 days. Whether peeled or unpeeled it's not recommended to store hard-boiled eggs in the freezer, as the white part will become watery and tough.
